Alabama ONE Credit Union, a leading provider of financial services, announced a merger with Brewton Mill Federal Credit Union (BMFCU) in Escambia County. Today, Alabama ONE Credit Union is pleased to announce an additional merger with McIntosh Chemical Federal Credit Union (MCFCU) in Washington County, AL. This merger was approved by the membership of McIntosh Chemical Federal Credit Union and will be made effective on October 1, 2023. The merger will further extend Alabama ONE’s footprint into south Alabama, enhancing the breadth and depth of financial products and services available to members of both institutions.

“We are very excited to welcome McIntosh Chemical Federal Credit Union into the Alabama ONE family,” said Bill Wells, CEO of Alabama ONE. “Alabama ONE believes in a community first approach and is excited to bring the best products and services to the McIntosh area. This merger aligns with our mission to provide all of our Members greater access to comprehensive financial services, especially to those in rural Alabama communities.”

The relationship was pursued in an effort to improve the portfolio of services for the Members of MCFCU. Katrina Dearman, the CEO of McIntosh Chemical Federal Credit Union, emphasized the alignment of values and goals between the two credit unions as a key factor in this decision.

“We are very excited for an opportunity like this,” said Dearman. “Alabama ONE not only shares our core values, but they exceeded our hopes for a credit union that we can merge with to continue our traditions of excellent service, while providing a depth of products that can help our Members achieve their financial goals.”
